The design concept began with the Owner’s vision to create a hair salon that is more than just a place for styling, but rather a space that offers relaxation like spending time in a cozy café or a bakery filled with warmth and comfort. This idea also resonates with the name Bread&Butter, which symbolizes beauty as an essential part of women’s lives. From this vision and the site survey, where the space is located at a corner with a curved glass façade, we developed the concept using the “dough” of bread as the main inspiration. Both in planning and in the interior elements, the salon was designed with clearly defined zones that flow together softly, articulated through gentle curves, simple forms, and level shifts in the floor enhancing both functionality and solving plumbing requirements. The floor plan was divided into three main zones: 1. Reception & Stock Area 2. Cut & Color Area 3. Shampoo Area Each zone was shaped like a bread dough form, carefully pulled away from the glass façade to create depth and spatial layers. Sheer curtains further emphasize the boundaries between zones. Natural and warm materials such as stone, sand, wood, and light fabrics in soft tones were selected to establish a relaxed, inviting atmosphere, complemented by soft lighting reminiscent of morning sunlight in a bakery bringing out a sense of calm and familiarity. Furniture and interior details highlight curved lines and soft textures that convey warmth and gentleness, reminiscent of freshly baked bread. At the same time, functionality is seamlessly integrated, accommodating both the workflow of hairstylists and product displays for customers to browse with ease. Together, these elements make Bread&Butter Hair Salon more than just a salon it becomes an experiential space, offering visitors a sense of relaxation as if spending time in a café, while naturally reflecting the beauty and identity of the brand.
